Getting Your Message Across


Notes from the lesson:
  • emails can be used to serve many purposes
  • cc stands for carbon copy; bcc stands for 'blind' carbon copy
  • "Re" stands for request
  • there is no need to type "Re" in the subject
  • subject should be short and straight to the point
  • content should be focused on the purpose of the email and an awareness of your audience - be sensitive!
  • depending on your relationship with the recipient, make sure your email is written in proper English, not some slipshod standard of English.
  • do not overuse punctuation
  • check your email before sending
